DONATE

We want to enable all of our community access to fresh, healthy food. We advocate for local food security initiatives to decrease malnutrition and food waste. Learn more about our community food security initiatives below.

Community Care of West Niagara

We donate most of our excess produce to Community Care of West Niagara (CCWN).  CCWN provides emergency food to an average of 350 families per month who are living below the poverty line in West Niagara. Families come once a week to get perishable items such as fresh produce and bread.

Niagara Christian Gleaners- Smithville

Niagara Christian Gleaners (NCG) collects what would have been food waste from growers and dehydrates it to be distributed within our community and those around the world. In two years, NCG has donated over three million pounds of produce (over 8.5 million servings of food aid) with the help of volunteers and support from the community.

541 Eatery & Exchange- Hamilton

541 Eatery & Exchange is a non-profit button jar cafe that enables all people to gather and eat together around a table regardless of financial means. At the cafe, the community is given the opportunity to purchase buttons that help others pay for their meal. Each button is worth $1 and anyone can use up to 5 buttons a day from the button jar to buy whatever they would like from the menu.
